A Nod to R. Crumb
While it’s sad that he totally abandoned his faith decades ago, and much of his art is cringeworthy in theme/subject matter, I think this is such a wonderful example of Robert Crumb’s illustration (I also love the Degas quote!) Just read this piece on NYT. I don’t know, but his recent work, currently on display at Skarstedt Gallery • 20 East 79th Street • New York, NY makes me think Wayne Thiebaud, James Rosenquist, and Andy Warhol fathered a child and his name shall be called David. Anyone?
